As parents, we want the best life offers for each of our children. Our youngest son has an intellectual disability. As a young adult, we want him to experience a life that is similar to his four older siblings. Whether it is social opportunities, friendships, independence and an ability to live in his own place. Organizations like Balance are making that possible for many families in our community. They’re making a difference for so many individuals with intellectual disabilities and more importantly, providing families with that sense of security and optimism for a son or daughter. The supportive services, programs and passion of every person associated with Balance helps to make the wishes and dreams a reality for families who are looking for a good quality of life for their sibling or child. Being a member of the Board is a way to not only give back for the support we’ve received over the years but to help ensure the community is there to support Balance in its longstanding focus on being a solution well into the future.
