Volunteering at Balance

We love our volunteers!

Meet Terri Mullens who is a new volunteer with the Children's Social Skills Program!

Before volunteering with Balance, Terri spent many years volunteering with the Wisconsin Humane Society. But, when Covid-19 hit and limited volunteer opportunities Terri was forced to take a break from the Humane Society. When things started to open back up, Terri thought about going back but really wanted to volunteer with people. After learning about Balance from her neighbor she put in her volunteer application. She is now an integral part of our Social Skills program.

Terri says she enjoys volunteering with Balance mostly because she loves kids but also because a couple hours per week is exactly the time commitment she was looking to make.

You can volunteer too! Long term, short term and one-time volunteer options are available.

  • Demonstrate your special skill or come and teach our day program participants a skill like baking or crafting.

  • Volunteer once a week during our Children’s Social Skills Program (Tuesday’s and Thursdays from about 4-6pm)

  • Get involved with our Children’s Summer Recreation program and join the kids for summer activities like swimming and boating.

Fill out a volunteer application here to get the ball rolling.
