Balance Inc. receives WISPACT grant to improve the quality of life for residents with disabilties.

The Wispact Foundation has awarded Balance Inc. a Legacy Grant of $7000.

This grant will allow Balance to continue to serve some of the most vulnerable in our community including the 24 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who live in Balance’s Adult Family Homes.

This support is vitally important especially now due to the rising cost of living. This grant from Wispact will allow Balance to provide enriching weekend outings and activities to our 24 Adult Family Home residents in 2024. These outings provide residents with social outlets, opportunities for movement on the weekends, and the chance to create lasting memories – all of which bolster mental health.

Balance supports more than 150 individuals with special needs each year through five main programs: Adult Family Homes, Adult Day services, Children’s Summer Rec Camp, Children’s Social Skills class, and Supported Living assistance for independent IDD adults.

The Wispact Foundation was established in 2021 and provides grants to support the mission of client-centered organizations assisting Wisconsin residents. The Wispact Foundation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wispact, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons with disabilities through pooled and community special needs trusts (SNT). Wispact was created in 2003 and is now one of the largest of its kind in the United States, and currently serves more than 4,000 beneficiaries throughout Wisconsin.
