Pace Day Program - Roni’s Story

“I’m outa here!”

“Two weeks into the Covid-19 shutdown, these were the words from our daughter who has attended the Pace Program for the last seven years. She wanted to be with her Pace family. As a participant, she looks forward to her days with her many friends.

As a parent of a special young adult, we know how important it is for her to be with others her own age. But like many parents, we want her safe. We have never worried about her safety in the Pace Program even during these challenging times with Covid-19. Gene, Rachel and so many others have been very professional and balance that with being wonderfully approachable loving personalities.

During this very difficult time for so many, my husband and I feel blessed that Pace is available for our daughter and so many others.” - Mary - Roni’s Mom

Gene, Director of Pace, shares: “I have known Roni since she joined Balance. She brings a smile to the staff and to all of her friends at Pace. She is always joking and having fun. Roni has shown me it is alright to be yourself and have a good time. I look forward to seeing Roni each day she comes to Balance!”
